Draaks
SITH INQUISITOR - SORCERER Specialization - Level 39
My very first Imperial character ever made in the game, Draaks saw his first incarnation in the Beta Weekend events, and was eventually re-created when the game was released. My goal was to play him as evil as I could, and as anyone who knows me could predict, that means that he has barely any dark-side points. -_-
Draaks was a slave (you can still see his brand tatoo'd on his face) who was freed when it was discovered he could feel the force. He was taken to Korriban for training, and from there started unlocking the true Dark Arts of the Sith. He has little respect for Imperial government or Sith society, and happily breaks their rules whenever it suits him. I play Draaks as cold and intense but also pragmatic and fair; he's not out for slaughter or bloodshed, but he meets any interference with the strongest possible force.

Ah, yes, it's the starter outfit that everyone insists is worthless, but that everyone buys anyway. This outfit does not flatter Draaks's bald head at all, but it gave him a few extra points of protection for those formative early levels when he needed it.
While this same outfit works well on neophyte Jedi characters, on novice Sith it just looks unflattering and even silly. Draaks endured, however.
Here we go. This is actually another purchased outfit from the Korriban starting planet, but it's visually identical to the robe Draaks was awarded during his training at the Sith Academy there. Much more dignified than the starting outfit or the Nerf-Herder's clothes, but still not doing much to protect his head from the sun.
This outfit was a real victory for its designers: it manages to look interesting enough for people to want it, without overpowering later, higher-level armors that those same players will find later in the game. It looks like a beginner's robe... but a cool one.
And now Draaks shows off the lightsaber his master awards to him at the end of his training on Korriban. I really, really love how the gloves blend right into the sleeves, like they were all wrapped in those leather straps. Very gothic, very kinky, very Sith-esque.
YES. This was a quest reward for the Revanite series of missions on Korriban, and Draaks wore it almost exclusively all the way from level 10 to level 30. It was exactly what I'd envisioned for my Sith.
Shiny black leather, head to toe. Kinky? Maybe. But it's definitely what any Sith of mine would wear if given the choice. And finally, a hood to cover up that bald head (sunburn on the top of your head really sucks, trust me on this). The red glowing points were cool, but I liked how they weren't too conspicuous. They didn't overwhelm the design.
By this point, at the end of the Korriban questline, Draaks had also been awarded his first lightsaber from his new master Zash.
Draaks is really starting to take shape now; stalking sinister Sith. Like I said, this robe suited my tastes so well that I stuck with it for nearly 20 levels.
A corollory to the previous outfit, I discovered this outfit on the Galactic Market, apparently a crafted item. I never added any mods to it, but often used it when hanging around with other players or talking with friends because it looks similar enough to the Saber Marshal's Robes that I could just pretend it was the same outfit, just with the hood casually pulled down.
Yeah, pretty silly reason to buy an armor piece for 5000 credits, especially when you're only level 15 or so. But I thought it was cool.

BLACK TALON INQUISITOR'S ROBE
This one I was cold on. It was nice to have a new, modifiable outfit, but at the same time this one just had nothing going on with it. It was a black robe. That was it.
As the name implies, the robe is a loot drop from the Black Talon flashpoint. I don't believe I wore this outfit for very long; the previous Saber Marshal's Robe was much more my style.
I did like the mods that came with it, though, and promptly transplanted them into my Saber Marshal's Robe. Really, though, the robe itself just held little appeal to me.
This is another mod'able robe that Draaks received in his mid-20s, and it was the first one I saw that seemed to lean more towards the TOR's more wacky and over-the-top concept of Sith fashion. Not a big fan of the shoulder pad things there. But I liked how this one has a bit more color to it than most of the other low- and mid-level black robes.
Some detail on the Robe of Insight. I liked the arcane-looking patterns on the chest pieces and shoulders. The whole outfit looks a little top-heavy, though. So much going on with the chest and shoulders that everything below the belt seems to be kind of scrawny.
I do like how this robe really does scream "black magic!" though. It's clear to any observer that the man wearing this outfit is into scary, scary things. All in all, though, Draaks never used this robe much. He does wheel it out for special occasions, though, sometimes.
Somewhere during this time is also when, following the Sith Inquisitor's storyline, Draaks reclaimed a powerful family heirloom, the helmet of Kallig's Countenance. I usually have the slot hidden, but sometimes it's fun to see Draaks looking like a real Sith monster.
I have to hand it to the designer: it's a creepy looking mask. It'd give me nightmares if I saw it in a dark room. In a hilarious example of turnabout, though, thiis is case where I wish that the hood for the robe was up. I think the outfit would like even more powerfully scary if that skull-mask was partially hidden in the shadows of a hood...

TRADITIONAL NYLITE VESTMENTS
Draaks's current outfit of choice is a "Traditional Nylite Vestments" set found on the Galactic Trade Market. I liked this one for all the same reasons I liked the Saber Marshal's Robe: shiny black leather makes for a wicked looking Sith.
It basically looks like the Saber Marshal's Robe with some new, blood-red stripes added to the mix. Draaks found the robe about the same time he claimed his Lord's title, so it was very fitting.
A quick zoom-in shows all that leathery detail is still intact, though. The way the hood hides Draaks's eyes, Kreia-style, was a nice touch.
Draaks whipping up some Sith sorcery. All of the Inquisitor's powers have a dark "black miasma" or purple Sith-lighning effect to them.
Draaks continues to work dark magics. His whole design is a working proof that in Star Wars, less is more. I wish the people involved with the games and the films still understod that too...
Update 04-06-2013 And Draaks has claimed an elusive purple color crystal for his saber! Purple crystals are sort of a status symbol in this game, as they're very rare -- most of them are for level 50 only, and the exceptions are very scarce and very expensive. But purple sabers look great with Sith Inquisitors, and Draaks's less-that-evil nature meant that his normal red blade just wasn't suiting him any longer.
Update 04-06-2013Sith Sorcerers like Draaks (and Siri'ous, for that matter) are built up in this game to be like mad scientists or dark wizards, unlocking forbidden secrets of the Force with wild abandon. Violet saber blades go with their Force Lightning power, and tend to match the decor of the tombs and crypts and ancient outposts where this buried knowledge is found, I feel.
Update 04-06-2013I was concerned about how well the new saber color would work with his robes, but purple goes well with the reds and blacks of the Nylite Vestments. I finally found a pair of simple black gloves that don't have ridiculous antennae coming out of them, so I think I finally have my principle Sith character looking exactly how I want him to, now.
Update 04-06-2013Helmet donned, and Draaks is looking like something out of a Metallica album cover or a Frank Frazetta painting.
